Abstract

866,812. Pantograph current collectors. STONE & CO. (DEPTFORD) Ltd., J. May 28, 1959 [March 13, 1958], No. 8169/58. Class 104 (3). In a pantograph current collector the current collector member 1 is resiliently supported on a vertical member 2 carried by the main pantograph structure 3, 3a, 3b by a rubber-sandwich mounting or mountings 6. The mountings 6 are upwardly inclined towards one another and inwardly inclined towards the centre of the current collector member 1. As shown in Fig. 4, each rubber-sandwich mounting 6 comprises two waisted rubber cushions 8, 9 bonded to an intermediate metal disc 10 and metal discs 11, 12. The disc 11 and 12 are secured by bolts 14 and 13 to cross-pieces 5 and 7. The tilting or displacement of each mounting 6 is limited by a surrounding canopy 15 abutting, at its open end, a distance-piece 16.
