Abstract

1386374 Support for current collector FAIVELEY SA 17 March 1972 [17 March 1971] 12730/72 Addition to 1323904 Heading B7L The apparatus for current collection of the main Specification 1,323,904 is modified in that additional means such as springs 113, 114 are provided to support the current collector 112 on the upper pantograph structure 71, in use dynamic low amplitude flow frequency height variations corresponding to the frequency of arrival of the moving collector at main support posts of the supply line being accommodated by the upper pantograph structure per se while low amplitude higher frequency height variations corresponding to the frequency of arrival at a plurality of auxiliary supports intermediate successive main support posts are accommodated by the springs 113, 114. An hydraulic or friction shock-absorber 100 renders the upper pantograph structure less sensitive to the higher frequency variations. As shown in Fig. 2 the horns 110, 111 are transferred from the collector 112 to the upper pantograph structure so as to reduce the inertia of the former. Ramps are provided to facilitate movement of the supply line from the horns to the collector at crossings.
