866,530. Wash basins. SMITH'S DELIVERY VEHICLES Ltd., and HEYMAN, H. W. July 30, 1957 [April 30, 1956], No. 13215/56. Class 26. A wash-basin unit comprises a cabinet 2 fitted with a wash basin 1 having a pump-action tap (not shown and of known kind) for drawing water from a tank 6 in the base, and having a waste water tank 12 disposed between the basin 1 and the tank 6. The cabinet has mounting brackets 3. The unit has two plates 9, 10, a tube 11 extending between them to accommodate the tap pump-barrel 4 and suction pipe 5. The space enclosed by the plates, the intervening portions of the cabinet walls and the tube 11 constitutes the tank 12 which has an outlet tap. A drain fitting 13 extends through the bottom of the basin and the plate 9 (which may be in contact with the bottom), may be secured by a nut and washer 13a bearing on the plate 9, and fitted with a non-return device. The upper plate 9 may be omitted, the top of the tank 12 being formed by the wash basin 1, having its rim suitably secured thereto. The tank 6 is enclosed by insulating material 14 when containing hot water, poured in at 7 or produced by a heating element which is preferably thermostatically-controlled. A drain tap 17 is fitted to the base of the tank 6, the valve 19 of which is operable through the cabinet wall by a key 21. The tank 6 may be replaced by a cold-water supply tank the top of which is the plate 10.
