Class 20(1) A prefabricated building comprises external walls of double skin construction, the skins 45, 47 consisting of panels, whose edges fit into spaced channels 106, 107 formed along the outer and inner edges of frame members 108 fabricated from sheet or strip metal and is characterised in that the exposed surfaces of the metal frame members are covered with strips 190 of a plastics material to reduce heat loss. Longitudinal ribs 191 on the outside of the strip are decorative whilst the ribs 192 on the inside space the strip from the frame. The strips fit around the frame member and are inclined at 194 to sealingly engage.the surface of a panel forming part of the skin 45. Modifications of the cover strip are described for fitting round the exposed flange of a base frame member and also the inner and outer surfaces of a corner upright frame member. The conductance of the metal frame members may be reduced by punching slots in the web portion thereof to increase the thermal path between the two channels.
