865,504. Safety belts for vehicle occupants. OTTOSSON, E. G. O. May 14, 1959, No. 16527/59. Class 141 In a vehicle safety belt comprising two oblique straps 10, 13 connected together by a buckle 12 and fastened to the vehicle body behind the seat by fittings 11, 14 at shoulder height and floor level respectively, a third strap 15 has one end fastened to the vehicle floor at 16 in a more forward position than the fitting 11 and its other end connected to the buckle 12. In a modification the straps 10, 15 are formed integrally and are freely slidable through a slot in the buckle.
