865,459. Control of motors. PARKSCRAMER CO. Aug. 20, 1957 [Aug. 23, 1956], No. 33342/60. Divided out of 865,458. Class 38 (3). [Also in Group IX] A stop-motion for a textile winding machine operated by the closure of a switch 78, Fig. 8, when a drop-wire is allowed to fall by the breakage or slackening of a strand being processed, is rendered inoperative at certain times by the opening of a switch 126. When both switches are closed, a circuit is established to a signal-lamp 152 and a quick-acting relay 154 to close a switch 146 controlling the supply to a switch 142 and a starter 140 governing the driving-motor 136. A temperature-responsive overload switch may be associated with a transformer 148 supplying power for the circuits. The circuit to the motor includes a slow-acting relay 144 which controls switches 156, 158 so that the stop-motion is de-activated until the machine is running properly and the strands are taut. The switch may be disposed in the circuit containing the relay 150 and switch 158 so that the signal-lamp will glow whenever a switch 78 is closed irrespective of whether the position of switch 126 allows the stop-motion to function.
