A mounting unit for an aircraft landing lamp d comprises a circular base b devoid of external protuberances at its attachment face upon which base are mounted bearings supporting a pivoted shaft having a cranked arm f mounted thereon and carrying an annular lamp support r, the shaft being pivoted by an arm k operated by an actuator c, e.g. by means of a plunger n. The actuator c is disposed tangentially to a circle coaxial with the base b and lying in a plane parallel to the base so that rotational adjustment of the unit can be made. The opposite end of the actuator is carried on a lever pivoted to the mounting and spring-urged outwardly to prevent chattering when the lamp is in its fully retracted position.
