Abstract

864,543. Anchor-nuts. ELASTIC STOP NUT CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Feb. 26, 1958 [Feb. 28, 1957], No. 6200/58. Class 89(1). An anchor-nut-assembly comprises a base-plate 32, Fig. 14, with hole 37 in axial-alignment, with which a member 33 and nut 34 are mounted and held by a cage 35 and clip 36. Member 33 and nut 34 have inter-engaging part-spherical-surfaces 42, 46, and the cage has slots 53 in its sides 49 receiving projections 45 to prevent the nut from turning in the cage. The clip surrounds the nut and has lips 55, Fig. 12, engaging the sides of the part 50 of the cage which is secured to the base-plate by tabs 39 on the plate bent over the cage-limbs 47. In a modification, a strip of anchor-nutassemblies is arranged in a channel 10, Fig. 1, each assembly comprising a member 15, Fig. 3, and nut 16 with inter-engaging part-spherical-faces, and held by a clip 17 and the inturned-lips 13 of the channel. Each clip has slots 28 for the nut-projections 26, and is located along the channel by bent-up-tongues 31.
