864,105. Casting-machines. PANIZZI, G. Aug. 26, 1959 [Sept. 2, 1958], No. 29204/59. Class 83 (1). For manufacturing a tube 10, a centrifugal casting-machine comprises a mould 1 having at least one continuous flexible metal profiled member 2 wound into a helix of an internal diameter corresponding to the diameter of the tube to be formed and maintained in motion along the helix to wind on at one end A and off at the other B, means 6 for cooling the mould means 7 for varnishing the mould and means 9 for feeding molten material to the interior thereof. The tape 2, which may be grooved, is supported and moved by helically or circumferentially grooved cylinders 3 rotated at the same or different speeds through gearing 4, 5. Pulleys 8 advance and tension the tape. Internal or external water or air cooling means may be provided. The varnish assists in sealing the gaps between tape convolutions.
