Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously coat a spiral core with a thermoplastic resin, by feeding the core to a crosshead along the helical angle of the spiral core while rotating the core and by extruding the molten thermoplastic resin from an extruder onto the peripheral surface of the core. CONSTITUTION:Driving rollers 6 for continuously feeding a spiral core 1 in the longitudinal direction, and a cylindrical guide 7 which has a peripheral spiral guide groove of the same pitch as the spiral core 1 and is placed in a fixed position are provided so that the spiral core 1 having a prescribed outside diameter and pitch is fed along its helical angle to a crosshead 5 on the front end of an extruder 4 while the core is rotated. A molten thermoplastic resin extruded from an extruder 4 is continuously coated on the peripheral surface of the spiral core 1 rotatively fed through a spiral core passage hole 26 and a die hole 32 provided in a guide nipple 24 and a die 29 secured on the crosshead 5.
