Abstract

The invention comprises trisubstituted ureas of the general formula: <FORM:0864095/IV (b)/1> (wherein n is two or three and at least one of the ortho positions in the benzene ring is unsubstituted), the preparation thereof by treating N-(2-propynyl)-isopropylamine with a di- or tri-chlorophenyl isocyanate having at least one of the ortho positions in the benzene ring unsubstituted, and herbicidal compositions containing the products (see Group VI). Specification 691,403 is referred to.ALSO:Herbicidal compositions comprise a trisubstituted urea of thee general formula <FORM:0864095/VI/1> (wherein n is 2 or 3 and at least one of the ortho positions in the benzene ring is unsubstituted) and an inert carrier therefor. The active ingredient may be admixed with or dispersed in liquid vehicles or may be used (e.g. in the form of a solution in an organic solvent) to impregnate dusts, or the compositions may take the form of concentrated solutions in hydrocarbon oils or organic solvents for subsequent dilution or dispersion (e.g. dispersion in water with the aid of an emulsifying or dispersing agent). Specification 691,403 is referred to.
