Abstract

863,024. Containers ; stoppers. HEDWIN CORPORATION. March 31, 1959, No. 10875/59. Classes 66 and 125(3). A container 20 made preferably of polyethylene, is formed of two symmetrical halves 22, 24 which are heat-sealed together along a line 26, a fold line 38 being provided to aid in collapsing the container for stacking as shown in Fig. 4, and a pouring spout 30 being formed similarly in two halves and sealed at its edges 32. A fold line 46 enables the spout 30 to be folded. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the fold lines are omitted. The spout may be sealed at its end, Figs. 6-8 (not shown), in which case the user cuts off a portion before pouring. Or the container may have a plug closure 78 flexibly attached, Fig. 9, or a screw cap 92 with double flange, Fig. 13, the containers in each case having a recess e.g. 70, Fig. 9, into which the spout may be folded. The container, which may be of a vinyl, acetate, or styrene may be inserted in an outer container of paper.
