862,975. Making valve spring retainers; extruding; forging. KABELUND METALLWERKE NEUMEYER A.G. March 25, 1957, No. 9654/57. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). A steel valve spring retainer is made by cold backwardly-extruding a steel blank into cupshape, then forwardly extruding it by a punch 7 within a die 6, Fig. 4, and also punching out the bottom of the cup, and finally cold-pressing it to final shape in a die, Fig. 5.
