Class 137 In a vehicle ventilating system wherein the flow of air is regulated by the adjustment of flap valves (not shown), the control means for effecting the adjustment comprises two approximately horizontal swingable levers 10, 11, one of the levers controlling the admission of fresh air and the other controlling its distribution to the vehicle, the levers being mounted to be swingable about a pivot 16 and also movable rectilinearly relatively to it. The lever 10 controlling - the fresh-air admission is a bellcrank having a short limb 12 connected to the flap valve by a Bowden cable 21. The lever 11 has a short limb 39 attached to a Bowden cable 38. The levers are each connected to a block 23, 231 sliding in a slideway 221 formed in the frame 15 which carries the levers and the pivot 16. Each lever has a slot 14 which enables it to slide longitudinally as it is rotated. For this reason, equal increments of lever-movement produce unequal increments of flap-valve movement.
