Abstract

861,608. Injection moulding. GORZALA, W. Feb. 11, 1959 [Dec. 31, 1957], No. 40420/57. Class 87(2). A portable injection moulding device for thermoplastic material has one or more handles 39 fixedly connecting plunger and cylinder portions of the device. The plunger 8 slides in a guideway 7 and is secured to a threaded spindle 13 passing through the threaded bore of a bevel pinion 16. The plunger is advanced by turning a handle 27 on a shaft 25 carrying a bevel pinion 24 meshing with pinion 16. Material to be injected is introduced into the injection cylinder through a hopper 44 having a movable section 45 hinged at 46. The nozzle 28 has a breech-blocklike thread 50 adapted to co-operate with a corresponding thread in a two-part-mould carrier. The nozzle 29 also has a valve 30 which is opened by engagement with the mould. The device can be used inverted by first ensuring that the plunger 8 has entered the cylinder 28.
