Abstract

863,092. Injection moulding apparatus. REIFENHAUSER, H. March 6, 1959 [March 15, 1958], No. 7932/59. Class 87(2). Plastic material fed to a chamber 6 by a hollow plasticizing screw 9 is injected into a mould 8 by an axially movable piston 3, additional screw threads being provided either on the bore of the screw 9, Fig. 3, or on the surface of the piston 3, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown). If the piston is screw threaded it may be rotated in the opposite direction to the screw 9. An aperture 12 may be provided in the screw 9 near a charging hopper (not shown).
