Abstract

860,298. Time-alarm signals. ETABLISSEMENTS PYLOT. Feb. 6, 1958 [Feb. 15, 1957], No. 3979/58. Class 118. A parking meter as disclosed in Specification 773,842 is provided with a neutralizing device whereby it cannot be reset until the " parking forbidden " period exceeds a predetermined time. A lever 101 is urged by cam 23 in an anticlockwise direction and pawl 113 slips over the teeth of an escapement drive 116. As the escapement mechanism gradually revolves the arm 101 moves anti-clockwise to its normal position. Part of the arm 109 engages pin 111 on the reset arm and prevents the nose 19 from engaging with pin 18 to reset the mechanism for a further parking period during the predetermined time and only allows such reset action to be effective when the arm 101 has made its full movement, thus allowing pins 111 to disengage with the part 109 and nose 19 therefore to reset the mechanism by pin 18.
