621,780. Electric alarm-clocks. OCKLESHAW, J., and BURGESS, F. W. April 26, 1945, No. 10491. [Class 139] [Also in Group XXXVII] An alarm clock which is arranged normally to enable an alarm device to function at regular or predetermined intervals has means operable to cancel the operation of the alarm device when it is next due to function said means being always released from its operative position at a predetermined time irrespective of the times set for operation of the alarm device. A wheel j rotated by the clockwork once in twentyfour hours is provided with two pins m and y the former of which is cammed at its forward end. A blade spring d constantly urges the pin m against the adjacent face of a manually rotatable disc n which has a recess q. The arrangement is such that when the pin m coincides with the recess q which has, been manually set to a definite angular position the blade spring d causes axial movement of the wheel j to push the pin m into the recess q. A contact f on the blade spring d abuts a contact g on another blade spring e to close an electric circuit and cause operation of an alarm. The alarm can be stopped or cancelled by depression of a button t the foot of which is provided with a cone u which separates the blade springs d and e thereby opening the circuit. The cone u is held in this operative position by the leg v of a pivoted latch x until the pin y on the wheel strikes the other leg of the latch x and releases the cone u. This release therefore takes place at the same time every day. If the button t is rotated at any time during the alarm, a cam t<SP>5</SP>, above the cone u, abuts the arm v of the latch x and causes release of the cone u which is moved upwardly by a spring t<SP>2</SP>.
