Heading G3T. 30 An alarm clock mechanism is provided with means for automatically stopping the mechanism after a predetermined run-down of the alarm train, and with manual means for stopping the mechanism arranged so that, if this manual means is actuated, the raising of the usual hour wheel by a cam to a reset position releases the manual means so that the mechanism is prepared for the next actuation. At the set time, projections 6, Fig. 2 (not shown) on the hour wheel 5 loosely mounted on a spindle 1, drop into notches 4 of the alarm wheel 3 which is fast with spindle 1. The alarm releasing lever 13,19 pivoted at 14 and biased by spring 16 toward the hour wheel 5, thus follows this wheel to move the part 19 out of the path of a part 23 of the alarm hammer 20 to release it for rocking in the plane of the movement. A stop 18 carried by the release lever 13, 19 simultaneously moves down to a position close to the surface of a stop wheel 9. A wheel 30 connected with the alarm barrel and alarm escapement then drives an alarm-controlling wheel 7 which is free on spindle 1. This controlling wheel has an arcuate slot 8 in which is engaged a pin 10 carried by the stop wheel 9 also loose on spindle 1, the pin 10 at the start being biased by a spring 12 against one end 31 of the slot 8. When the other end 32 of this slot meets the pin, stop wheel 9 is driven clockwise in Fig 1, from the position shown where a conical stud 11 is positioned just to one side of the part 18, to a position where this stud reaches the other side of the part 18 and raises it to shut off the alarm. Pin 10 has then re-engaged the spring 12 and is biased back to the position shown. The alarm can be stopped manually by a press-button 29 which moves a pivoted yoke 25 against a return spring 33 to a position wherein a conical stud 26 on the yoke passes beneath the lever 13 and raises it to the shut-off position, the yoke meanwhile being retained in this actuated position by its engagement with the lever. After a few hours the hour wheel 7 is raised by its cam projections 6 to the alarm restraining position whereupon the yoke 25 is released and returns to its original position. The mechanism is thus prepared for the next time release of the alarm.
