Abstract

A modification of the process for the preparation of 1-phenylcyclohexane-1-hydroperoxide claimed in the parent Specification is characterised in that the phenylcyclohexane is reacted with the molecular oxygen in the presence of a hydroperoxide of an isopropyl substituted aromatic hydrocarbon. The reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of 4-5% based on the weight of the reaction mixture of cumene hydroperoxide which is at least 90% by weight pure when introduced. An example is given in which an increased conversion to hydroperoxide is obtained.
