In a washing-machine having a container 1 for the liquid and the laundry with a rotary agitator disc 10 at the side for their circulation, the container 1 is circular and has a flat bottom 15 towards which the lower portion 3 of the wall is tapered, and on the inside of the portion 3 is mounted the disc 10 immediately adjacent the bottom 15, with which the plane of the disc forms an obtuse angle so that on rotation it moves the laundry with a circular motion around its extended axis and the vertical container axis, to be continuously withdrawn from it in a lateral direction. The container 1 also has a part 2 tapering towards the top joined to the part 3 along the greatest diameter through an overlap 4. The bottom 15 is single-walled and is formed from the lower end of the part 3, to form a support, by an extension 14 thereof, comprising a heating body 6 covered by a perforated plate 7, the electrical connections passing therethrough, and having therein the outlet communicating with the inside through the plate 7. The disc 10 is mounted directly for driving on the shaft of an external electro-motor 9 extending as shown, enclosed in a casing 8 on a flat portion 16 of the part 3 in an extension of which is provided switches 11 and 12 for the motor 9 and the body 6 and a signal lamp 13 for the heater 6 visible from above. The weight of the container 1 and of the switches is so distributed that the machine, when empty, remains approximately vertical when lifted by gripping the edge 5 at a point above the motor 9.
