857,962. Moulding moisture seals around tubular elements. GLOVER & CO. Ltd., W. T. June 5, 1959 [June 6, 1958], No. 18173/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXVI] A cable termination or pipe joint in which an envelope 11 (for example, of epoxy or polyester resin) is cast or injection moulded onto the cable sheath 2 or pipes 20 (for example, of polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene) to which it does not reliably adhere is provided with a moisture seal comprising an elastomeric ring 7 and gland nut 5 which are placed in position around the sheath or pipe prior to forming the envelope 11, the threaded part of the gland nut being coated with a release agent so that the nut may be substantially tightened to compress the ring 7 as shown.
