Abstract

857,629. Mounting bobbins &c. on textile spindles. CHIOTEX S. A. Jan. 21, 1959 [Jan. 24, 1958], No. 2292/59. Class 120(2). A device for centring and locking a bobbin &c. on a textile spindle comprises a hub 1 in engagement with the spindle 10 and having a number of radial compartments 4, which are formed by vanes 11 and a cap 1a of the hub 1 and a cap 2 crimped to the hub, and shoes 5 centred in the compartments and bearing against the inner surface of the bobbin &c. under the action of compression springs 8. Rotation of the spindle 10 gives an added centrifugal gripping force. The hub 1, caps 1a, 2 and shoes 5 may be made of alloy containing 90% zinc and 5% aluminium or 4% aluminium and 1% copper.
