857,319. Masted lift trucks. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. March 24, 1959 [Aug. 29, 1958], No. 10117/59. Class 78 (3). In a straddle leg masted lift truck, the fork 52, or other load-engaging member, is secured to a plate 46 which is supported on the lifting carriage 27 by horizontally swinging links 36, 37, 42, 44, and is moved relative to the carriage by a pair of simultaneously-operable double-acting hydraulic rams 56, 64. Synchronous movement of links 36, 37 is ensured by the provision of rods 72, 76 which are universally jointed at 74, 80 to a lever 70 pivoted to the carriage at 71, and at 75, 81 to arms 62, 79 extending from the links. A similar arrangement, including rods 85, 86 and a lever 82, synchronizes the move. ment of links 42, 44.
