A pedestal washbasin has a pedestal 2 integral with the basin 1 and of a horizontal cross-section in the form of a " Y," the basin 1 being supported in front by a forward wing and on each side by side wings 5 which conceal the plumbing fixtures. A soap receptacle 3 is a part of the basin 1 and is drained by an outlet 4 into the back of the basin. Pieces extend from the outer edges of the wings 5 to the back wall, which may be integral with the basin and pedestal, but are preferably loose.
