Abstract
1,121,267. Composite device enabling a room to be used as a kitchen or bathroom. M. SCHMIDT. 25 July, 1966 [23 July, 1965], No. 33330/66. Heading A4N. A composite device enabling a room to be used either as a kitchen or as a bathroom, comprises a top lid on one piece, or which may be divided into two sections 22 and 23, the latter covering a wash basin 24, and the former covering the kitchen equipment including heating plates 31, a sink 32 combined with a stacking and draining board 33. The various water tanks and water and gas pipes are hidden behind the bath tub enclosure 18. The spout 36 serving the sink and that 37 serving the wash basin are connected to the corresponding lid sections in hinged manner and can be included in niches 39 when the lids are closed. The drainage pipes from said wash basin and sink may lead direct into the principle outlet of the tub or a separate siphon system (not shown) may be used. The recess 30 is used to raise the intermediate lid 29 when the unit is to be used as a bathroom, both lids being fixed to the wall by means of catches 27. A shower spray 43 can be stowed on the underside of one of the depressions in the intermediate lid. A flushing toilet 19 may be included in the unit and a groove 20 may be wrought between the bath tub pannelling and the toilet section for insertion of a screen 21. Closure of both lids would also enable the device to be used as a table.
