855,453. Underframe details of railway vehicles. ZAVODY, V. I. LENINA PLZEN NARODNI PODNIK. Dec. 20, 1957, No. 39630/57. Class 103(6). A railway vehicle bogie comprises a vertical pivot 13, Fig. 1, fixed to a cross-beam 14 of the main frame 1 and vertically and laterally displaceable with respect to the bolster 6 by means of rockable props 5 which, together with suspension links 10 on the ends of springs 7 fixed by sleeves to the bolster and suspended from the bogie frame 8, support the main frame. The props are bedded at their upper ends in channel beams 2 of the main frame and have spherical bearing surfaces at their lower ends resting on beds 4 on the bolster which in turn is supported by the springs 7. The pivot is mounted in a transverse beam 9 having a spherical bearing 12 which is laterally movable within a lubricated cavity in the beam with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle against the action of springs 15, so that tractive or braking forces are transmitted directly to the bogie frame and thence to the cross-beam. The channel beams have a pair of brackets 20, Fig. 3, on each side interconnected by braces 17 to support the bogie when the whole vehicle is vertically lifted by a crane, and a coupling band 19 is fixed to the centre of the bolster and has its ends inserted in sleeves 18 in the braces 17 so that the bolster may be angularly displaceable with respect to the main frame about a vertical axis together with the bogie frame.
