1437260 Railway vehicle undercarriage CREUSOT-LOIRE 22 Aug 1973 [11 Sept 1972] 39859/73 Heading B7L A double bogie for supporting a waggon body frame 4 and equalizing axle loading, comprises two simple bogies each having a bolster 8 bearing through springs 9 on side frames 6 carried by axle boxes 7, a double transverse balance beam assembly comprising side levers 11 pivoted symmetrically about pivots 13 parallel to the central longitudinal vertical plane of the bogie and on opposite sides of a central bearer 14, the balance beam assembly being supported on the bolster 8 by two bearings 10 (with resilient sandwich members 12) located between the levers 11 and the bolster 8; and two lateral longitudinal balance beams 28, the ends of which are pendularly suspended from the hooked ends 25 of the levers 11, by ring links 26, two central bearings 15, each being carried by a respective one of the bearings 14 and two lateral bearings 32 each being provided on and intermediate the ends of a respective one of the longitudinal beams 28 for supporting the body frame 4 on the double bogie. In the front bogie i.e. the right hand bogie, Fig. 2, the levers 11 are directly pivoted at 13 to the bearer 14 having checks 18 to embrace and engage the sides of the bolster for tracture purposes. In the rear bogie the levers 11 are pivoted to the bearer 14 through links 35 whereby the bearer can slide along the bolster when the double bogie negotiates a track curve. The cheeks 18 of that bearer 14 still engage the sides of the bolster for tracture purposes.
