854,060. Vehicle fittings for loading. EVANS, S. R. April 30, 1958 [Nov. 29, 1957], No. 13721/58. Class 78 (4). A bundle of rods or other articles is transferred on to the chassis of a trailer by a platform 13 tilted about a pivot 14 by a cable 16 passing round the bundle and operated by a winch 19. The cradle passes through a dead centre as it is turned and its descent is controlled by a ram 20 which also serves to return it to its initial position. The ram 20 is fed with fluid through a connection 21 from the tractor towing the trailer. Buffers 22 receive the cradle 13 when in position on the chassis 10 and a chain 15 limits its outward movement. A pair of rollers 17, 18 co-operate together with the cable 16.
