Abstract

852,761. Fluid-blast switches. FERGUSON PAILIN Ltd. May 8, 1959 [May 23, 1958], No. 16684/58. Class 38 (5). The tubular insulating enclosure of a gasblast circuit-breaker consists of two coaxial parts 1, 2, separated by an arc-resistant metallic annulus 3 which surrounds the arc zone of the contacts 4, 5, and is secured to parts 1, 2 by radial flanges 6, 7 and rings 9. The inside edges of annulus 3 have a relatively large radius to reduce the electrical stresses. Specification 821,223 is referred to.
