In a milk flow indicator having a main milk passage 22 and a by-pass 25, the by-pass being of such a size that it can cope only with the reduced flow of milk at the end of the milking process, the whole of the milk in excess of the by-pass flow is caused to pass through a sight glass 3. The indicator comprises a back plate and a body part 2 which is divided into two chambers 12, 13 by a partition 18. Milk enters the inlet chamber 12 through an aperture 5 and circulates round a central stud 20 in an enlargement 19. Froth collects in the enlargement and is prevented from rising by a nose 26, a baffle 24 and the expanding passage 22 which reduces the flow velocity. Two ports 15, 16 lead from the two chambers to the sight glass so that the whole milk flow in excess of the by-pass flow is caused to pass from the inlet chamber 12 through the sight glass to the outlet chamber 13.
