A magnetic trap for collecting magnetic particles from substances flowing through conduits 3 comprises a permanent magnet 7 projecting into a hollow body 1 divided into two chambers 14, 16 by a baffle wall 11, 17, 12 provided with a communicating hole 18 located opposite the magnet 7 so as to direct the flow of the substance axially with respect to and around the projecting magnet 7.
