852,545. Centrifugal spinning and twisting apparatus. NEDERLANDSE ORGANISATIE VOOR TOEGEPAST - NATUURWETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK TEN BEHOEVE VAN NIJVERHEID, HANDEL EN VERKEER. Nov. 1, 1957 [Nov. 5, 1956], No. 34189/57. Class 120(2). A centrifugal spinning or twisting machine has a traversing thread guide, a bobbin holder and a resilient guide element mounted on a common shaft for movement together between spinning and winding positions. When spinning, thread passes from rollers 2, through the eyelet of the resilient element 5 and the thread guide 4 to be deposited in the spinning pot 1. To initiate winding on to a bobbin 3 the common shaft 8 is rotated and the bobbin is lowered into the pot 1, the rollers 2 having been stopped. The element 5, which on being rotated has formed a free length of thread, bends as the bobbin 3 is lowered to maintain thread tension. When the thread guide 4 has been returned to the pot 1, the thread is cut on the edge of the pot. Mechanical means wherein two cam discs control two clutches are described for effecting the various movements of the shaft 8. Specification 642,821 is referred to.
