Abstract

852,521. Bird scares. JUNIPER, H. W. Feb. 26, 1959 [March 14, 1958], No. 8219/58. Class 6(2). [Also in Group XXIX] In a repetitive detonation device for scaring birds, of the type comprising a gas generator 1 and a controller 2 receiving gas from the generator and releasing it in successive charges to an explosion chamber 4 means are provided for interrupting the explosions during a pre-set time period. A time-controlled, single-way valve 7 (see Group XXIX) is inserted in the gas conduit 3 between the controller 2 and the explosion chamber 4, and shuts off the supply to the explosion chamber during said pre-set time period. Whilst the valve is closed, the gas escapes from the controller to the atmosphere past a pressure relief valve in an outlet tube 9.
