Abstract

852,162. Reflectors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Dec. 10, 1958 [Dec. 16, 1957], No. 39036/57. Class 75(2). In an electric light fitting comprising a housing carrying a plurality of lamp mounting means spaced around an axis and each associated with a directional reflector for producing shadowless lighting e.g. for surgical operations, the reflectors 2 comprise hermetically sealed hollow vessels formed with a re-entrant transparent well 8 at the apex to receive the electric lamp 9, the wall 3 of the reflector being shaped so as to form a directional reflecting surface and being of a high reflectivity. Paraboloidal or ellipsoidal reflectors of anodized aluminium may be used. The opposite ends of the reflectors are closed by windows 5. The reflectors may be used in the apparatus described in Specification 852,161.
