Abstract

600,442. Projection lamps. HEWITT, N. E. Dec. 21, 1945, No. 34685. [Classes 75(ii) and 75(iv)] A projection lamp comprises a light source and a plurality of reflectors which are pivoted in a supporting frame and may be adjusted to vary the light beam by levers carrying tappets engaging an axially movable cone. In Fig. 1, a number of reflectors 14 pivoted at their inner or outer ends in the lamp casing 12 are adjustable simultaneously by levers 16 carrying tappets 18 engaging a cone 19 threaded on a rotatable screw 20. In Fig. 9, overlapping reflecting plates 24 surrounding a fixed parabolic reflector 31 and pivoted at 25 to the casing are adjustable by levers 26 carrying tappets 27 engaging an axially movable cone 28. In Fig. 12 annular reflectors 23 pivoted at 38 are adjustable by rods 39 pivoted to levers 40 having tappets 41 engaging a movable cone 42. In another construction a number of reflectors pivoted to a cylindrical casing and reflecting light back towards a fixed main reflector are similarly adjustable. The wall and reflectors may be formed with vacuum chambers. Specification 400,680 is referred to.
