Abstract

851,877. Fertiliser distributers. WALLIS, G. L. Feb. 10, 1959 [Feb. 10, 1958], No. 4264/58. Class 6(1). [Also in Groups VIII and XXX] A metering or distributing roller for apparatus for distributing fertiliser or powder comprises a number of axially aligned sections 2 of a deformable resilient material such as rubber each formed with a circumferential concavity and separated by discs 3 of a relatively hard material and means such as cam nuts 5 for exerting axial pressure in the sections for varying the depth ' d ' of the concavities. The concave surface of the sections may be formed into a plurality of longitudinally extending flutes or fins or alternatively part spherical pockets may be formed in the surface of the sections. The discs may be formed of polyvinyl chloride and may be bonded to the sections. The sections 2 may be expanded by means of liquid forced through a perforated tube on which the sections are mounted.
