Abstract
851,481. Electric timepieces. MARTI, F., and BRAUNSCHWEIG, G. Jan. 14, 1957 [May 31, 1956], No. 1280/57. Class 139 In an electric timepiece the balance 1 is impulsed as it swings counter-clockwise by a lever 5 which is rocked by a spring 13 the outer end of which is fixed to a terminal 14 and the inner end of which is fixed to the staff 6 of the lever 5. The lever 5 is normally maintained in the position shown by a permanent magnet 24 which attracts an iron pin 12 on the lever. As the balance swings counter-clockwise the impulse pin 3 engages the end of a spring 9 fixed to the lever 5 and moves the lever clockwise. When the pin 12 leaves the field of the magnet 24 the spring 13 rocks the lever 5 further clockwise and the end 7 thereof meets the pin 3 to impulse the balance. A contact 11 carried by the lever 5 meets a contact 19 carried by the armature 17 of an electromagnet 16 which is then energised to rock the armature clockwise to reset the lever 5 and stress the spring 13. On the return clockwise swing of the balance the spring 9 is flexed by the pin 3.
