Abstract

1,271,626. Watches. DAINI SEIKOSHA K. K. Nov.12, 1970 [Dec. 8, 1969], No.53948/70. Heading G3T. In an electric timepiece, a pallet 15 carries a permanent magnet 16 which is fixed coaxially with pallet staff 17 and co-operates with a magnetic system comprising a triangular yoke 28 and a driving coil 29, the pallet 15 thus driving a stepping wheel 25 and impulsing a balance mechanism 1 through a pallet fork 15c and a first roller jewel 6. The driving coil 29 is energized through a transistor (36), Fig. 4 (not shown) when a second roller jewel 7 deflects a spring contact 9 so that it touches a fixed contact pin 11. The contact 9 is damped by a resilient wire 9a having a natural frequency three to five times higher than that of the contact 9. The damper may alternatively be a blade (9b), Fig. 6 (not shown). The transistor may be a M.O.S. transistor (49), Fig. 7 (not shown), the contacts 9, 11 being in the transistor base or gate circuit to minimize the switched current. The spring contact 9 is carried by a holder pin 10, the pins 10, 11 being fixed to a printed circuit board 12 which is attached to a base-plate 23 of the timepiece. Arms 26, 27 of the magnetic yoke 28 define a circular aperture in which the magnet 16 oscillates, the yoke 28 being fixed to the base-plate 23 by screws 30a, 30b, 33, 34.
