Abstract
851,283. Mine roof supports. RHEINSTAHL WANHEIM G.m.b.H. June 27, 1958 [July 2, 1957], No. 20752/58. Class 20(2) A telescopic pit prop has at either of its ends a connector 2 having radial bores 3 which open into triangular recesses 4 on the inner side of the member into which pins 6 can be driven to connect the prop to the protective sleeve 7 of an extension 5. Another connector 2 is similarly fitted to the extention 5 for connection of a foot or head plate. To remove the extension 5 the pins are driven further into the bores to release the sleeve from the member 2. The pins are removed from the bores by a drift inserted through the recesses 4. A cone shaped base is illustrated in Fig. 7 (not shown).
