Abstract

851,103. Amplitude modulating systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. June 30, 1959, No. 22382/59. Class 40(5). In a balanced modulator employing a symmetrical transistor 11 as a pair of switching elements equal resistors 4, 5 are included in the modulation input circuit as shown and an adjustable D.C. bias current caused to traverse one resistor 5 from a current source 16 to produce an unmodulated carrier component in addition to the normally suppressed carrier output.
