Abstract

Amine salts having the general formula : <FORM:0850514/IV(b)/1> wherein Y represents <FORM:0850514/IV(b)/2> or <FORM:0850514/IV(b)/3> and n, m and p are respectively whole numbers from 0-30, 1-20 and 5-19 inclusively are prepared by reacting appropriate aryl polyoxy ethylene sulphates with the product obtained by condensing sodium chloracetate with the open-chain amido product derived from a fatty acid or mixture of fatty acids containing 6-20 carbon atoms and hydroxyethylamino ethylamine. A mixture of a compound wherein Y+ has the first formula and a compound wherein Y+ has the second formula may be formed.
