In a system wherein the speed of an electric motor 1 is controlled by a reversible servomotor 3 in accordance with the difference between the output of a tachometer generator 2 and a reference voltage from a potentiometer 6, the servomotor has two speeds for each direction of rotation, and the speeds are selected by interlocked polarized relays 4, 5.
