Abstract
A composition comprises a normally solid polymer of an olefinic hydrocarbon having up to six carbon atoms in the molecule and a melt index less than one and a zinc salt of a saturated fatty acid having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms in the molecule present in an amount in excess of that which will dissolve in the polymer. The zinc salt is preferably present in from 0,25 to 6% of the polymer, while up to 25% of the zinc salt may be replaced by one or more saturated fatty acids. Specified zinc salts are the myristate, evosinoate, palmitate and stearate while stearic acid is the specified acid. The poly-olefin may be prepared by the Ziegler process. Specified olefins are ethylene, propylene, butylene, butadiene and isoprene and their interpolymers. Specifications 799,392, 799,823, 801,031 and U.S.A.
