The rotor of a selsyn machine comprises a pair of L-shaped magnetic poles 38, 40 carried on a non-magnetic shaft 28 and magnetized by fixed coils 52, 54, the flux circuit being completed by the casing 10 and three wound stator poles 20 spaced round its inner periphery.
