Abstract

845,400. Slicing machines. TALGE, H. J. Dec. 22, 1958 [Jan. 2, 1958], No. 41324/58. Class 28(2). The slice thickness gauge plate 16 is automatically and releasably locked in a predetermined position. This can be used as a safety device when the gauge plate is screwed into a position co-planer with the knife edge whereby the edge is protected from cutting e.g. children's fingers. The gauge plate 16 is mounted on a sleeve 24 with internal threads whereby hand rotating of a screw 27 effects adjustment. The sleeve 24 is provided with a groove into which slips the lower edge of a hole in a spring pressed sliding locking plate 33. To release the plate 33 is depressed to free the sleeve 24.
