875,185. Hand slicing-machines. ZYSSET, K. Sept. 28, 1959 [Oct. 1, 1958], No. 32828/59. Class 28 (2). A food block 4 is sliced as in Specification 875,184 by a rotated disc knife 13 mounted on a plate 7 pulled by its integral handle 24 about a pivot 5. The knife 13 is rotated by its pinion 12 by a toothed segment 28 also mounted on the plate 7 and pulled with it but retarded by being fixed to a pivot 29 on a link 26 whereby it is caused to rotate to drive the pinion 12. The link 26 is pivoted on the frame at 25 which carries a spring 42 which assists in restoring the knife when the handle is pushed up so that the plate 7 abuts against a rubber stop 43.
