Abstract

844,942. Masked lift-trucks. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 7, 1957, No. 4263/57. Class 78 (3). In a masted lift-truck the fork or other loadcarrier 14 is carried by a plate 18 which is mounted on the lifting-carriage 13 by means of links 20, 21 which are pivoted to plate 18 at 29, 30, and to horizontally-movable sliders 31, 32 at 33, 34, the sliders being selectively lockable to the carriage by solenoid-operated dogs 40, 41 so that with dog 41 operative, operation of a ram 45 moves plate 18 to the chain-dotted position (Fig. 3). Ram 44 swings the plate in the. opposite direction. A further ram 54 acts between a bracket 55 on plate 18 and a bracket 56 on plate 19 to move the fork along plate 18. The dog operating solenoids 42, 43 and the rams 44, 45 may be controlled in accordance with movement of the truck steering-mechanism by an electro-hydraulic servo-system (Fig. 8, not shown).
