Partially wrapped loaves of bread L are pushed from lifter table 146 through wrapping station F up to sealing station S by pushers 114 of twin chain conveyers C. Width adjustability (Fig. 2). Bars 38, which support the respective conveyers, are carried by nuts 44, 45, 88, 89 working on . threads formed on shafts 48, 78, the shafts being coupled by chain 70 and driven by chain 58. Thus, operation of chain 58 causes the two conveyers to be separated transversely of the direction of conveyance for use with loaves of differing widths. Rollers 93, rolling on transverse rail 95, give additional rolling support to said bars 38. The drive to the sprockets 14 of the conveying chains 10 comes.from chain 130 through gearing 134, 140, shaft 28 and key 32. The key is carried by the hub 18 of sprocket 14 and works in slot 30 of the shaft 28 to allow for the transverse separating of the two conveyers. Adjustable alignmeent of twin pushers 144 (Fig. 1). The two side-by-side pushers on respective conveyers C are aligned for pushing the same loaf by means of its respective eccentric bushing 124, each pusher 114 being pivoted to the conveyer chain 10 at 106 and additionally linked to the point 122 of the said chain by link 118. Each pusher is additionally stabilized by two rollers 102 running on rails 100. Conveyer belts 162 (Fig. 2). A loaf is delivered by the said pushers 114 of the wrapping section F on to endless belt conveyer 158 which then advances the loaf between the spacedapart heat-sealer belts 162. Belts 162 are carried by the aforesaid bars 38 so that when the bars are spaced further apart in a transverse direction, belts 162, as well as conveyers C, are correspondingly spaced further apart.
