843,837. Photo-electric testing of lamp reflectors. BUTLERS Ltd. June 23, 1958 [June 27, 1957], No. 20271/57. Class 40(3). [Also in Group XX] An apparatus for testing road vehicle lamps, which comprise a lamp bulb 4 and a concave mirror 3 to produce a parallel beam of light, includes means for supporting the lamp and also a reflector 6 which reflects the light on to the end of an assembly of straight and contiguous tubes or transparent rods 7 which transmit only the rays which are parallel to the tubes or rods. A lens 8 focuses the light on to a device 9 (for example, a photo-cell) for measuring light intensity or alternatively or in addition on to a screen 12 whereby the quality of the reflector surface may be tested.
